TSKB has been providing the industrial sector with long-term investment loans since its foundation in 1950. The Bank has also contributed to the establishment and development of the capital markets in Turkey via its investment banking activities.
The rapid growth in the real estate investments led the Bank to focus on the real estate sector and to structure an institutional approach to meet the increasing demand. The first step has been the establishment of the real estate appraisal company, TSKB Gayrimenkul Değerleme A.Ş (TSKB REAC) in 2003. TSKB REAC was awarded as the best appraisal company in Turkey several times since then and became one of the leading actors in its sector.
With the establishment of TSKB GYO at the beginning of the year 2006, the Bank’s activities in the real estate sector were enhanced with a new dimension : In addition to the lending and consultancy services of the Bank and TSKB REAC, TSKB GYO started to play the role of a shareholder in real estate investment projects. The Company is primarily an investment institution. However, with the support of its shareholders, the Company is also equipped with the background that is necessary for development of new projects as well.
TSKB GYO was established as an investment trust according to the Capital Market Law. According to the legal regulations, the Company has to offer at least 49% of its common stock to the public after composing its real estate portfolio.
Taking support from the unique expertise and highly developed governance principles of her parent company, the main objective of TSKB GYO is to develop and invest in viable and sustainable projects as well as to contribute to the process where real estate investments become attractive investment alternatives in the capital markets.
